Re: What exactly is the difference between the SPXX and the SPXXX series?

Yeah, I was a little confused (initially), too.  Do I consider 50 < 102, or SP5 > SP1 ? (numerical sorting vs character sorting)  Will get more confusing if/when they get to SP5xx (eg, is SP501 an incremental improvement from SP50 ?).

 

I think if they had stuck with a 3-digit number (eg, SP050, SP060) it would be a little less confusing. It would be a bit easier to see SP0xx and SP1xx as separate code branches for the 15.7 product, with the SP0xx series representing the older branch of code and SP1xx the newer branch of code.

 

As for the comment about 15.7 SP10x==15.8 ... I'm ignoring that train of thought completely as I'm thinking/hoping that was a really bad, invalid example.  (For which we'll probably all want to come back and edit our responses to remove any mention of 15.8 in this thread ???)
