Re: How to access ASE remotely from a Linux server?

Thank you Vincent.

I downloaded express edition for Linux and unzipped it. I suppose since I only need to install the client, I would need to run setup.bin in ASE_Suite/archives/open_client directory, correct?

Also, I am guessing setup.bin would run GUI interface for the installation. Is there actual rpms I can run to install OpenClient, because installing via GUI may not be a good solution for us. I found an ancient post on the web that mentions rpms such as sybase-common-11.9.2-3.i386.rpm, sybase-ase-11.9.2-.i386.rpm, sybase-doc-11.9.2-1.i386.rpm, sybase-openclient-11.1.1-3.i386.rpm, but doesn't say where to get them. Wherever I can get these rpms from, maybe there are 64-bit version there as well. Do you think it's possible to install the client using rpms?

Thanks,

Arthur.
